Bảo hành: how long a Da Nang gel set actually lasts, and the free-fix week that comes with it

Four days to forty-three

Of the 760 public reviews behind this guide, fifteen say how long the nails lasted, in days or weeks, across thirteen of the 159 salons. It is not a large sample. It is the only durability data that exists for this city, because nobody else is counting, and it has a shape.

The top end first. A customer of Liti Nail & Hair 1, 22 Triệu Việt Vương, 744 reviews, came back to her review on 15 April 2026 to add one line: she had been home in the United States for over a month, 43 days, and the manicure was still intact. At Hanii Nail on An Cư 1, 180 reviews, a walk-in's set lasted over six weeks before she had it redone, at the same shop. At SORA K-NAIL STUDIO, 76 Phan Châu Trinh, 476 reviews, a 750,000đ hand-painted set on natural nails went four-plus weeks without a chip. The appointment took two and a half hours and the review says so.

Then a cluster at about a month. No lifting after a month at Lalla Nail on An Thượng 29, 1,101 reviews, on a set that began with broken nails being repaired. Over a month without chipping or peeling at S' Nails Beauty on Hải Hồ, 109 reviews. A month at Timi Nail, 105 Lê Đình Dương, 73 reviews, written from Thailand. Almost a month on a bridal manicure and pedicure at MinHy Nails, 81 Yên Bái, 689 reviews. Twenty-three days at Kimmy Nails Studio, 410 Võ Nguyên Giáp, 239 reviews, through beach days, airport sprints and · her words · all the dish washing; her 2026 update, three days short of a month, says still perfect. Three and a half weeks at HD nailsroom, 15 Phan Châu Trinh, 42 reviews.

Two reviews sit at about a fortnight and are pleased about it: almost two weeks at Ther Nail Room on Phan Văn Định, out in Liên Chiểu, 63 reviews, and almost two weeks on a set worn by a reviewer's son's girlfriend at Lee Nails & Spa, 74 Tô Hiến Thành, 435 reviews.

And four that did not make it. A different customer at the same Lee Nails: an index nail broken after one week, scratching her arm. Seven days to a chipped, peeling plain gel at Trà Beauty · Nail & Shampoo, 777 Trần Cao Vân, 27 reviews. Four days, Thursday to Monday, at Heaven Spa&Nail&barber, 227 Nguyễn Văn Thoại, 1,007 reviews. And a gel pedicure at R Nail & Spa 3 on Võ Nguyên Giáp, 58 reviews, that was peeling and still wet underneath before the customer reached the airport that afternoon.

So the honest range is zero to forty-three days, the middle of it is about a month, and the four failures do not read as bad luck. Read together they read as four different things a technician did, or did not do, in front of the customer.

Three weeks is the packaging. A month is the Da Nang number.

OPI prints up to 3 weeks of wear on a bottle of GelColor. CND launched Shellac in 2010 on a fourteen-plus-day claim and has stayed there. Those are the manufacturers' own numbers, written for salons in cities where the technician's hour is the expensive input and the product is the cheap one.

Da Nang inverts that. A single-colour gel here is about 200K on the price tables, and what the money mostly buys is minutes. Chuty Nailroom at 169/5 Trần Phú, 68 reviews, took two hours over a plain gel manicure quoted at thirty, and the customer's itemisation of the extra ninety includes two layers of reinforcement gel she was not charged for. The bill was 190,000đ. A US-licensed nail technician who had a hard-gel set filled at Lena Nails on An Thượng 3, 249 reviews, singles out that the two technicians took their time. A walk-in at Chik Nails on Nguyễn Duy Hiệu, 49 reviews, says the same about the prep. That is where the extra week comes from. Not a better bottle, a slower chair.

The Vietnamese trade has a name for the gesture that matters most. Khóa mép móng · locking the nail edge · is running base, colour and top over the free edge of the nail so that water has no seam to get into, and nailflow.vn, a Vietnamese trade blog, credits it on its own with taking a gel manicure to three or four weeks. This guide has told you to ask for it before. The fifteen reviews above are what it looks like when it is done and when it is not.

Which makes the Heaven Spa review the useful one. 1,007 reviews at 4.8, a Korean-facing spa, nail and barber shop on the road down to My Khe, and a same-day slot when nobody else had one. Peeling in four days. The reviewer's own conclusion is that a cheaper salon would have done the same or better, and on this evidence she is right: the shop that could fit her in at once is the shop that had no minutes to spend on her.

Every failure was visible in the chair

Go back through the four and each names its cause, usually without meaning to.

Lee Nails, the three-star. Gel flooded onto the skin of the pinky, and the reviewer, who plainly knows the trade, writes in the same sentence that it will cause quicker peeling. A week later her update confirms it. Gel that sits on skin lifts as the skin moves, and once the seal is open at one side of a nail the rest follows. It is the easiest fault to see from where you are sitting: look along the cuticle line after the colour coat, and if there is shine on skin, say so before the lamp, not after.

R Nail & Spa 3. A gel pedicure that had not cured properly, peeled, and was still wet underneath. The reviewer's advice to the next person is to ask for each layer to be cured longer, and it is good advice. Toes are the last thing done and the lamp is often shared, so a foot comes out of it when the next customer's hand needs to go in. A gel layer that gives when you press a fingernail into it is not finished, whatever the timer said.

Trà Beauty. A visibly uneven file · the middle finger shorter and crooked · which the customer pointed out and was told she could not see. Plain gel on natural nails had chipped at seven days on her earlier visit, and her own benchmark, stated in the review, is that everywhere else she has been the polish went at least two weeks before it needed a fix. Keep that benchmark. A Da Nang local treats a fortnight as the floor, not the ceiling.

And Heaven, which is a time fault rather than a technique one. The pattern across all four is that the customer noticed something before she left · the flood, the soft layer, the crooked nail, the speed · and the set failed along the line she had noticed. The ninety-second check this guide already runs on tools and rooms has a nail-by-nail version: shine on the skin, a layer that gives, a tip left uncapped. Any one of them and you are looking at a week, not a month.

The good rooms are checking for you. A customer at Chic nails on Nguyễn Xí, 120 reviews, writes that the technician did not over-file and asked whether her nail beds were getting hot under the lamp · the heat spike is a thick layer curing too fast. Bảo-Hân Nail Bar on Phan Thành Tài, 52 reviews, hands out gloves for the lamp. Neither costs the salon anything, and both are the tell of a room that expects to see you again.

Bảo hành: the fix is free for about a week, if you are still here

Vietnamese salons warranty gel work. The word is bảo hành, the same word a phone shop uses, and it sits on service pages the way a returns policy sits on a shop door. Hani Beauty's nail page gives three days for lifting, peeling or a tip coming away. LiNa Nails and HomeNail, two Saigon at-home services, give seven days against faults of technique. Tlee Nails Room in Bình Thạnh, Ho Chi Minh City, publishes two weeks; Chị Em Bạn Nail in Hanoi, one. None of those is in Da Nang, and no Da Nang review in this dataset quotes a printed policy. But Trà Beauty, the seven-day failure above, answered the customer's message by offering a warranty and ten per cent off the next visit · the same instinct, with nothing written down.

So the practical rule for a visitor. If a nail lifts, chips or breaks in the first week, message the salon on the channel you booked on, with a photo, and go back. Most shops in this city will refit the one nail for nothing; it costs them ten minutes and a drop of gel, and it costs them a review not to. Outside the window, or at a shop that shrugs, a single tip repair sits at about 55K on the tables and takes a quarter of an hour. There is no version of this where you live with a broken nail for the rest of a trip.

The catch is obvious and the reviews above are full of it. The 43-day customer was in the United States. The Timi customer was in Thailand. The R Nail customer had a flight that afternoon and writes, flatly, that she could not go back. A warranty is only worth anything to somebody still in the city, which is an argument for one small amendment to a rule this guide made earlier: hands in the final forty-eight hours of the trip, yes · but forty-eight, not four. Book the manicure two days out, sleep on it, and if a tip has lifted by breakfast you are still within walking distance of the person who can fix it. The morning-of appointment gives you the shortest possible interval between application and the one thing gel cannot survive, which is being on a plane when it fails.

The sign predicts the lifespan

Here is the pattern in the fifteen that I did not go looking for, and it is the opinion of this piece.

Nine reviews report three weeks or more. Eight of the nine came from a shop whose Google name is about nails and nothing else: Hanii Nail, SORA K-NAIL STUDIO, Lalla Nail, S' Nails Beauty, Timi Nail, MinHy Nails, Kimmy Nails Studio, HD nailsroom. The exception is Liti Nail & Hair, and it holds the 43-day record, so the rule is not iron.

Four reviews report a failure inside a week. All four came from a sign with a second trade on it. Lee Nails & Spa. Trà Beauty · Nail & Shampoo. Heaven Spa&Nail&barber. R Nail & Spa 3 · Nail, Massage, Eyelash, Heel Scrub, in that order on the shopfront.

Sixty-seven of the 159 salons in this guide carry a second trade in their Google name, so this is not a corner case. It is where a lot of visitors end up, because a spa on the beach road with a nail desk by the window is the easiest thing in the world to walk into after a massage. The massage will be fine. But a nail desk inside a spa is staffed for turnover, a hand set is the job that gets hurried when the room upstairs has a booking, and a hurried set is a four-day set. If the nails are what you came for, buy them from a room that does nothing else. Lee's own five-star two-week review is the only evidence in the dataset against this, and it is a fortnight, not a month.

If you are staying longer than a month

The Lena review is the one to read if you are here for a season rather than a week. A US-licensed technician wearing sculpted hard gel wanted a fill and rebalance, and most shops she asked wanted to take everything off and put on a new tipped set instead. Look at the price tables and the reason is arithmetic: a builder gel refill is about 380K here and a fresh builder application is about 400K. A twenty-thousand-đồng gap is not enough to teach a room a second procedure, so the default is remove and redo · fine for a visitor, slowly ruinous for a resident's natural nail. Lena on An Thượng 3 will do the fill. Ask for it by name and expect it to be the exception.

The alternative is to buy the product that is built to be refilled. BIAB at about 300K is the structural version of what the long-lasting reviews above are describing, and it is refilled at three or four weeks rather than taken off. Hanii's six-week customer, the longest single wear in this guide, went straight back to the same chair when it was done. That is the whole method, and it costs less than it sounds: one room that does only nails, one set that is sealed at the edge, and a walk back inside the week if anything moves.
